The Textile Heritage of Ukraine – talk on 23 February

I’m looking forward to giving a talk next Thursday to Thames-side Stitchers (formerly the Isleworth branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild). It takes place at St John’s Community Hall, St John’s Road, Isleworth TW7 6RU and the meeting starts at 7.30 pm. Guests are welcome. There’s a fee of £7 for non-members.
I’ve been enjoying getting out the Ukrainian textiles from my own collection to take with me. For example, these rushnyky (ritual towels) – a woven one of the distinctive Krolevets type and another example, embroidered in 1951.
